Breathe is a for-charity One Piece zine project featuring two zines:
One Piece x Ghibli Zine
One Piece Cottagecore Zine
The OP x Ghibli Zine will feature OP characters in stories, outfits, etc. inspired by Ghibli, whether set in a Ghibli world or in the OP world. ✨The OP Cottagecore Zine will take us into the countryside with OP characters as they relax among nature, animals, and enjoy the sunlight. ☀️

I told Miyazaki I love the "gratuitous motion" in his films; instead of every movement being dictated by the story, sometimes people will just sit for a moment, or they will sigh, or look in a running stream, or do something extra, not to advance the story but only to give the sense of time and place and who they are."We have a word for that in Japanese," he said. "It's called ma. Emptiness. It's there intentionally." ...He clapped his hands three or four times. "The time in between my clapping is ma. If you just have non-stop action with no breathing space at all, it's just busyness...”

The Japanese concept of Ma is something that relates to all aspects of life. It has been described as a pause in time, an interval or emptiness in space. Ma is the fundamental time and space from which life needs to grow.
...Ma is filled with nothing but energy and feeling. It speaks of silence as opposed to sound, of lack as opposed to excess. It is the momentary pause in speech needed to convey meaningful words, the silence between the notes that make the music…There is a need for Ma in every aspect and every day of every individual’s life.
we hope that this zine project, despite the differences between the two zine themes, will as a whole serve as a reminder to "breathe" & embrace those pauses in life as well as the beauty in between moments.
Half the proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a nonprofit that grants wishes to children with critical illnesses, & the other half will go to the Bliss charity, a UK-based nonprofit that helps babies in neonatal care!
These two nonprofits hold a lot of personal meaning to the head mods, so we're very excited to be able to dedicate this project to them!

Hi, it's me again! I've been thinking about this project for a while now & it's very close to my heart <3 I love the peaceful simplicity of cottagecore & the whimsical nature of Ghibli that explores a variety of deeper themes through nostalgia, so why not bring both to life in OP characters?

Q: What is a zine?
A: A zine, shortened term for fanzine, is a non-official publication focusing on a specific theme. It usually features a collection of artistic works such as illustrations and stories organized and compiled into a physical and/or digital book.(This project consists of 2 zines: OP x Ghibli and OP cottagecore!)
Q: Will this be a digital or physical project?
A: Right now, we are thinking for both zines to be digital zines with physical merch, but if there is enough interest in the interest check, we will consider the possibility of making one of the zines physical.
Q: Is this project free, for profit, or for charity?
A: This will be a for-charity project! All proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation & the Bliss charity.
Q: Will ships be allowed in this project?
A: The specifics will be decided after interest check!
Q: What does the OP x Ghibli zine theme entail?
A: The following will be allowed:
✦ OP characters wearing Ghibli character outfits, set in OP or in a Ghibli movie setting
✦ Ghibli-inspired stories with OP characters
✦ Redraw of a Ghibli scene but with OP charactersFurther specifics will be decided after interest check!

A: No, this project will be strictly SFW!
Q: Do I need experience to apply?
A: No experience is needed. We highly encourage both beginners and more experienced creators to apply!
